Painted on the last day of 2023. Given the status of conflict around the world it made sense to me to embrace the simple pleasure of a vase, petals of a favorite bloom, expressionistic canvas treatment (scratches with a palette knife), and dynamic saturations and blends of color, to provide an expression unique from my previous paintings. I feel I'm on to something.
